Special Information for Donors
Southern Cultures receives no public funding for operating expenses beyond partial support for two positions on our editorial team, yet we still produce award-winning content for tens of thousands of students and scholars at hundreds of colleges and universities in dozens of countries--as well as for lay readers in homes throughout the South and the world.
Imagine what we could do with your help. You can become a Southern Cultures Associate and receive a complimentary five-year subscription (or five additional years on an existing subscription) with a gift of $1,000 or more. Southern Cultures Associates who make larger gifts also can allocate their donations:
* $4,500 subsidizes payments to all of our writers for one year.
* $5,500 covers rights and expenses for the annual Music Issue's CD, the Food Issue's DVD, or another CD or DVD to be determined.
* $15,000 underwrites full-color photography for one year.
* $15,000 funds one graduate student assistant editor for one year [need two per year].
* $19,000 sponsors one theme issue [need three or more per year].
* $20,000 provides enhanced publicity and advertising.
* $42,000 sponsors low-cost/no-cost distribution of one year of the print edition to 1000 libraries and institutions that could not otherwise afford it.
We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you if you're interested making a gift for any of the above--or if you're interested in an endowment for Southern Cultures or supporting Southern Cultures in another manner not mentioned here. Please feel free to contact Harry Watson, editor of Southern Cultures and director of UNC's Center for the Study of the American South, by email or by pnone:

If you're ready to make your gift now, you can make it online by selecting the Southern Cultures Gift Fund at the gift page link here, or you can download this brief form and mail it in.
Thank you.
